NRCS ConservationAcquisition Team

Providing direct support to help expandland trusts’ capacity to access NRCS programs.

About

In partnership with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Land Trust Alliance established the NRCS Conservation Acquisition Team, or NCAT, to provide direct support to land trusts interested or already participating in the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program and Regional Conservation Partnership Program. The team assists with projects nationwide from early application planning to closing, helping land trusts to create strong application packages that strengthen America’s farmers and ranchers. In collaboration with NRCS, the team will assess processes to expand farmland and ranchland protection and support producers nationwide. As this is offered in collaboration with NRCS, there is no cost for assistance.

Let’s work together

The NCAT is available as a resource to organizations involved in ACEP-ALE and RCPP or to those that are considering it. Project specialists are available to answer questions and provide advice as your land trust navigates the eligibility, application and acquisition phases of your projects. Direct one-on-one support is available. Assistance can take the form of regular meetings, shared documents, package review before submission and communication with NRCS staff.
