March 22–24, 2027
California's land, water, and communities face both extraordinary challenges and extraordinary opportunity. The California Land & Water Conservation Conference is where the people doing this work come together — to share what's working, tackle what's hard, and strengthen the relationships that make durable conservation possible.
For the 2027 Conference, we will gather at the Westin Rancho Mirage in Palm Springs, where the desert comes alive in late March — a stunning backdrop for three days of sessions, peer exchange, and connection. Land trust staff and board members, Tribal leaders, public agency professionals, policymakers, private landowners, and conservation advocates from across the state join together for sessions spanning land acquisition and easements, stewardship, working and agricultural lands, funding strategies, community engagement, policy and advocacy, and more.
Session tracks:
- Administration, Operations & Finance | Strengthening operations and building financial resilience
- Fundraising, Communications & Partnerships | Integrating strategy, communications, fundraising, and community partnerships to expand program impact
- Land Protection | Policies, tools, and partnerships for land protection
- Stewardship, Mitigation & Restoration | Tools, policies, and practices for ongoing management of protected land
- Tribal Nations & Partnerships | Sovereignty, stewardship, and authentic collaboration
- Water | Opportunities for access, stewardship, and long-term protection of California waters
